Margate art trail

Take in Margate’s street art on an electric bicycle (eBike). Follow your host as we  weave across the town discovering a wide range of street art by internationally famous artists, including Tracy Emin, Anthony Gormley, Ann Carrington and recent ‘Rise Up Residency’ educational murals aimed at inspiring visitors to reduce plastics.

Departure 10.30am  (10:30hrs) Prompt

(You are invited to arrive up to 30 minutes prior to the Ride scheduled we open at 10am)

Be introduced to your fellow cyclists, hear a short safety talk and be kitted out with your safety helmet.

Comfortable suitable clothing is recommended. Closed-toed shoes, gloves, glasses and  waterproofs are always a good idea.

  • I have sunscreen available if you should forget. 

  • All the bikes available are the  Radpower Radrunner No2 model, fitted with front basket, waterproof roll top bag, flexible phone holder and water bottle carrier.

  • Filtered Tap Water will be provided with mint and cucumber.

A brief advisory talk is given about using the eBikes, which after we have adjusted seats to optimum heights we shall have an initial 5 minute short cycle on Leicester Avenue, a quiet wide residential road so everybody may familiarise themselves and feel confident before we set off.

The tour will explore the art around Margate with a halfway stop at Garage Coffee on the beachfront, overlooking the main bay.

Cycling ability EASY (two hills are encountered and with cycle assist they are easy)

Good road awareness and strict following of The Highway Code is essential for safety.
